Well, I am excited to start my own blog! I hear so much about people having a great time making posts and interacting with their readers; I very much look forward to this fun experience. In fact, I am so excited about making my first post that I am ignoring a long packing list for the upcoming trip to Latvia that is sitting on my desk right next to me. I am setting out for my six-week trip this Sunday morning, in less than two days. Flying out of Orlando to JFK bright and early, at 7 am, and then transferring onto a flight to Riga. A 24-hour trip door to door. Ahh…deep breath :-)

I am going together with my mother and my 2-year old daughter, so my packing list has everything from toddler toys to clothes and, of course, painting supplies…trying to fit it all in three bags that have to be less than 50 lbs (jetblue requirement) is not a task for the faint of heart. Plus, my daughter has been helping me pack by doing just the opposite—I put one item in the suitcase, she takes one (or more!) out—I hope that everything that I think I put in actually is in the suitcases…will have to double check on those paints tonight—my daughter was very excited about the tubes of acrylics and couldn’t get enough of doing some finger painting today.

Hectic day tomorrow—going to commencement to Trinity Prep in the morning, and then yes, you guess it right—more packing! And, if it doesn’t rain, I sure hope to get some time by the pool—you never know with that summer weather in Latvia, it can be warm, but it also can be cool.

Well, I better go check on those paints, and I hope to be able to post to my new blog again soon. Oh, and the painting in this post is one of the pieces I created in Latvia when visiting a few summers ago.
