The weather in Latvia has been very unstable—sunny in the morning and windy and rainy by the afternoon. I’ve been finding excellent painting sites during my walks, but, due to the changing weather, I haven’t yet had a chance to actually work on location. Instead, I have again resorted to some indoor painting of the seasonal flowers. This time, I have gorgeous peonies

And a bit less vibrant jasmine—there is a huge shrub growing by the gate of my parents’ garden, and their perfumey smell can be felt when approaching from far away. Take a look at what I've managed in about an hour...

Besides my artistic adventures, I’ve been getting into some culinary ones. There is such a variety of fresh pastries and elaborate cakes here, and I’ve been indulging in quite a few…my sweet tooth cannot withstand such a temptation, especially if it comes at a very affordable price. Here is a picture of the delectable egg liquor cake to tease you…mmm.
I can’t wait to try more wonderful pastries during my upcoming trip to Riga (the capital) this weekend; I will be sure to report. So long until then!
