Have I told you that I LOVE lilac? There is something SO beautiful about these late spring blossoms. And the perfume-like smell that fills the air, ahh… Living in Florida now, I truly miss seeing them bloom. I couldn’t hold off getting a huge bouquet and making a quick study in acrylics. Take a look. My first official summer painting! Yay!

I also took loads of reference pictures for an oil painting or two to work on when I get back home. The bouquet is huge, and it is begging to be painted on a large canvas, which would be hard to lug to Florida from Latvia…that project will have to wait till August.
