We’ve been enjoying our last week in Latvia. Seeing friends, taking walks around town and spending time in my parents’ garden along with running on sandy river banks of the Daugava, the longest river in Latvia, has truly been fun. I covered every sheet of paper and every canvas board that I had taken with me with some paintings, here’s a pic of me working on the waterscape—my dad and my daughter Ally are on the background.
With sunny and warm weather everything is blooming and growing like crazy.
We are eating garden berries right off the bush or a tree, including these delicious cherries.
Every vegetable on our dinner table comes from the garden, too. Fresh potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and greens—so, so good! I can’t even think of Publix produce for a long time after tasting these wonderful veggies.
Our bags are almost packed and we’re ready for a long trip home. Two hour drive to Riga, the capital, where we’re going to stay overnight with my sister. And then off to the airport bright and early this Sunday morning. Then spending 10 hours on our direct flight to JFK and, lastly, a short flight to Orlando. It’s gonna be long and not too much fun, but, hopefully, we’ll get home safely by Sunday evening. We’ll talk to everyone after our return. I am off to enjoy my last afternoon walk by the river and some herb tea in the garden with my family. Here's a recent picture with my parents and sister.
